Choosing the right access control system is crucial for a company’s security and efficiency. A precise needs analysis helps to create clarity. Which areas need to be protected? What types of authorizations are required?

Which areas should be protected?

There are different user-friendliness and security requirements for each area you want to protect.

Building access:
The focus here is on high flexibility and minimal disruption. Not only is it unpleasant for employees and guests to go through complex processes before entering the building – in the event of an evacuation, the access control system must not be a hindrance.
Driveways:
Many company premises have access points for vehicles in order to provide employees or visitors with the opportunity to park safely or to make it easier for suppliers to deliver materials.

To ensure that only authorized persons have access to the areas on a site that are approved for them, it makes sense to use barrier systems such as barriers and gates, retractable bollards or vehicle barriers in conjunction with an access control system.

Server rooms, archives, production areas, safes, etc. – they are all particularly sensitive areas in companies, and their protection is of particular importance. In addition to key cards or transponders, more sophisticated and harder to forge methods can be used here. Examples of this are fingerprint scanners or retina scanners, which are significantly more individual and therefore more difficult to circumvent.
